I was listening to the EEI stream this afternoon ('PEI doesn't come in to well in my office) and at 1pm, they switched the stream over to ESPN radio. No big deal, they can't stream the broadcast of the Sox game online, I know that. I can just turn on the radio because surely the Red Sox Radio Network affiliate around here has the game.
What do I hear when I turn on the radio at 1:05? Jim Rome. Hmmm, someone forget to throw a switch back at the studio? No wait, since it's only spring training and it's the middle of the week, they must have just left the game on 'PEI so as to not disrupt the big signal (not to mention Jim Rome) with a silly baseball exhibition. So I went out to my car, where I can at least get a static-y signal from 95.9, but all I hear is Colin Cowherd. Ok, someone really must have forgotten to flip a switch, I'll just go back inside and suffer with Rome until they fix it. An hour in, still nothing.
What the hell? Not every spring game is on TV or radio...so why can't the few that are being broadcast by the flagship be carried by the affiliates? Do they really think that the majority of the listening audience prefers Jim Rome and/or Colin Cowherd/Scott Van Pelt to a Red Sox spring training game? [bleep] you, Atlantic Coast Radio.

At least something was on the air. Seems like they lose their signal every time a chipmunk farts.

So today wasn't a scheduled day for the Sox to be on TV or radio. The game is being broadcast by SNY and that feed was picked up by MLB Network. MLB Network is blacked out in the NESN market to protect NESN even when they're not broadcasting themselves. After numerous complaints about the same dilemma happening last Sunday, NESN is airing SNY's broadcast on its standard definition feed only (ACC tournament on the HD feed).
What a pleasant turn of events. NESN rocks. [bleep] you Atlantic Coast Radio again for "blacking out" the game yesterday.

Yeah they were blacked out this past Sunday when they were on MLB Network and the game was not on Nesn. That day they did not put the game on Nesn as far as I know. WZON put the game on the radio up here yesterday but they did not over the past weekend. Up here we can get WZON or WJAB or 97.5, so usually at least one of them have it.
