Portland has won nine straight games, and will try for 10 in a row tonight against Albany, the city that apparently is interesting in stealing the Pirates from Portland. If the Pirates win tonight, they'll tie the franchise mark set in November of 1996. Tonight begins a brutal stretch of 8 games in the next 10 days.

I hope they do it. Though theres some hard ball being played I guess in this whole thing wiht Albany and the Senator from there getting involved. Theres a lot needed Iguess on the Portland side ( least and an upgrade from the CCCC) is one. But it may leave the building dark for next year, a lot like what happened in 92-93 when the Mariners got uprooted to Providence.
Go Pirates

The Pirates winning streak came to an end at 11 games, which is a new franchise record. It could've been 12 in a row, but they gave up a goal with 1.3 seconds left yesterday and lost the game in a shootout.

though anytime you can clinch 23 out of 24 possible points.....That is never a bad thing, they are right in the hunt to play an Atlantic Diviison foe in the playoffs. They have a legit shot to make the ECF if they and Buffalo stays healthy
