It seems like the NFL wants to ensure it doesn't have another Janet Jackson moment, so it is going with old guys lately (The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Paul McCartney, etc). But the NFL could still get some more relevant acts that would be considered safe, I would think. Any suggestions?

I saw what I wanted to see during halftime: The Simpsons

In the past, other networks would offer counter-programming, and even had a countdown clock to let you know when the game would restart. I didn't see any of that this year. Examples from years past: Beavid and Butthead, Celebrity Death Match, Lingerie Bowl.

In Living Color had a great one way back when. Damon Wayans and David Alan Grier doing "Men On Football": "The Bills and the Redskins, how boring. I'd much rather watch the Oilers and the Packers."

How about Ashlee Simpson so the crowd could have booed her into retirement so I never, ever have to come across anything that relates to that no talent ass clown.
